Alberto Gianfranco Baccelli,
Nadia Basso,
Regina Di Attanasio,
Roberto Esposito,
Ercole Gino Gelso,
Giordano Martone,
Lorenzo Mattone,
Fausto Nazer,
Stefania Rea,
Marcello Sassoli,

HOTEL ACCOMMODATION
Our office collaborates with VivaFirenze (www.vivafirenze.it), an online hotel reservations platform that share the Life Beyond Tourism philosophy and mission. Through VivaFirenze.it, the travelers and the hotels come together to promote a new style of tourism that guarantees the dialogue between cultures, while respecting the place, the visitor and the hotel interests. So the hotelier affiliated to VivaFirenze.it knows that his hotel is the first opportunity of meeting between the visitors of different nationalities and the first contact with the town and its identity. VivaFirenze.it assigns part of its proceeds to the activities of the project Life Beyond Tourism ® by carrying out project promotion activities for the preservation, development and promotion of the cultural heritage of Florence.

How to book a hotel on VivaFirenze.it
Agreements have been made with some hotels from 2 to 5 stars in the neighborhoods of the congress venue. In order to benefit of the discounts for event participants you need to register for the event and the Organizing Secretariat will send you by e-mail a discount code. Going to this page http://www.vivafirenze.it/eventi-36-X_Scuola_Internazionale_di_Lessicografia_«Life_Beyond_Dictionaries» you will see the list of the hotels by inserting the arrival and departure dates (discounted from the 11th to the 15th of September) and the discount code. The value of the discount depends on the hotels and it is valid exclusively in the period of the event.
Prices are determined by the hotel and are subject to availability. In case you would like to book another hotel you can still book – always Vivafirenze – directly from the home page, any other structure in any other area of the city.

Personale di arte contemporanea APRIRE “IL VOLO” di CARLO TARANI

CARLO TARANI nasce a Firenze e risiede a Castel S.Niccolò in provincia di Arezzo.
Attualmente è insegnante di pittura presso l’Accademia Europea di Firenze.

www.carlotarani.com
http://www.auditoriumalduomo.com/it/eventi/aprire-il-volo-di-carlo-tarani.asp

Essa fin’ora assolveva, in modo a lui costretto,
una mera funzione contenitiva; volendo invece
renderla parte integrante dell’ opera, egli approda
l’Aprire.
equilibri e dell’armonia.
Senza dubbio predilige materiali in disuso o
destinati alla rottamazione, ma ove quelli a
sua immediata disposizione non risultino adatti,
l’artista li reperisce, li modifica, li invecchia, li
assembla, per destinarli all’opera progettata.
moltiplicare i suoi lavori, apponendo su essi numeri
di serie.

The delegates were kindly invited to use the Best Practice Reservation Portal www.vivafirenze.it that is a practical application of the Life Beyond Tourism philosophy. You can choose among over 200 accommodation facilities to get the option that better suits you in terms of prices (the same hotel fares as in the other international reservation portals), location, category, etc.
This is a way to better know how the Life Beyond Tourism Model operates on the territory and for the territory interpreting and communicating it to the visitors; indeed, booking your stay with Vivafirenze you (without any extra-costs for you) contribute to support a crowd funding campaign for 4 special restoration projects in Florence as with the Model you can do on your territory.
For this reason, the reservation portal www.vivafirenze.it has been selected by the Organizing Committee as the official one for the Conference and Assembly.
Please kindly note, given the occupancy level of hotels in Florence expected in March, rooms will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

The Romualdo Del Bianco Foundation has fulfilled its commitment with the Life Beyond Tourism Philosophy and Initiative that combines factors like heritage fruition, values-oriented travel, intercultural dialogue for safeguarding the planet Earth for attaining a new commercial offer where the local “Learning Communities” are the main actors.

World Heritage Sites -very rich in multiculturality on their sites- can play a significant role in promoting dialogue among cultures, which is consequently useful also  for the sustainability of the Planet Earth and for the management of our territories and our lives;
in conclusion WHS are important for the future of our cities, sites and planet Earth: our future!

We remember the words of Ban Ki-moon (former UN Secretary General) pronounced last year about  the ‘transformation’ aspired for by the United Nations Post-2015 Agenda:

“Transformation is our watchword.
At this moment in time, we are called to lead and act with courage.
We are called to embrace change.
Change in our societies.
Change in the management of our economies.
Change in our relationship with our one and only planet”
Our contribution to the change is:

WORLD HERITAGE SITES for DIALOGUE for PLANET EARTH.
heritage, travel, dialogue on and for the planet Earth.
One world, one origin, many cultures, a shared destiny or none!

Background & Introduction

This Symposium is closely connected with the previous ones, the 2016 “SITES for DIALOGUE” and the 2017HERITAGE for PLANET EARTH”, whose respective scientific achievements are collected in totally 8 different ISBN-coded publications (3 of which are about to come out gathered on https://issuu.com/istitutointernazionalelbt.

The aims of the 2018 Symposium are strictly connected with OUR VISION; we are not sustainable tourism, we are not responsible tourism, we are TRAVEL for DIALOGUE or TRAVELLING DIALOGUE ORIENTED.We open a platform where to get together THEORY & PRACTICE; as you know and as already said, World Heritage Sites represent a great strategy for getting people of different cultures together and for exercising dialogue among numerous cultures and contributing, thus, to the safeguarding of our planet.

The World Heritage Sites represent an opportunity to meet peoples and travelers in an ideal context of absolute relaxation given by the holiday atmosphere and with a willingness to listen, observe and reflect; and the so-called “Learning Communities” (residents, travelers, local authorities, educational institutions, cultural and economic operators, etc.) ought to direct their action:

  • to realize the said opportunity, in order to play their relevant role in achieving the community’s interest in peaceful development, protecting the Earth’s health and limiting climatic change
  • to guarantee that the development is not driven by the market trends but managed by multiannual planning approaches that guide policies, business practices and behaviors.

The Heritage for Planet Earth theme is intended as part of a wider awareness-raising strategy – addressed to younger generations and to institutions dedicated to their training – on the fragility of the cultural-natural heritage and  the environmental equilibrium of the planet Earth.

As already said, sites of cultural interest – classified and not – and those of natural interest  are increasingly attracting visitors from all over the world; therefore, these sites are enriched by multiculturalism and have the opportunity – but we should start considering it as “a duty” – to become true centers of dialogue between cultures present on their territory. Therefore, all actors of the “cultural trip”, the above-mentioned “Learning Communities”, with their services, with their hospitality, have to pursue that aim, for the growth of the international community in peaceful coexistence; so it will help also to start the exercise of useful reflections on the heritage, and widespread awareness of the respect and protection of the Earth’s “health”.

ACCOMMODATION IN FLORENCE:

N.B.:

The accommodation structures in the portal www.vivafirenze.it joined the portal to contribute to support the heritage of the territory thanks to which they operate. Their membership is voluntary and determined by a true sharing of Life Beyond Tourism values.

Any differences of price with other portals is nothing but a human error, and in that case, you are kindly invited to inform the hotel and customer.support@vivafirenze.it in order to guarantee the prompt correction.
We thank you in advance for your attention and prompt communication because also this is form of valorisation and support of the heritage of the territory where www.vivafirenze.it operates itself.

2nd International conference on creative society

“Creativity: Individual or Social Phenomenon?”

March 5-6, 2018
Florence, Auditorium al Duomo

!!! READ THE CALL FOR PAPERS HERE !!!

Introduction

Creativity is a very important aspect of society. Some scholars are absolutely enthusiastic about creativity that should give a competitive priority in respect of the competitors. Nevertheless, creativity also raises many problems in management of it from feeling of guilty to threat against identity of community. In general, creativity is an ambivalent and contradictory phenomenon that covers both positive and negative aspects. As a result, policy of creativity faces some paradoxes. The biggest challenge to the policy is the very creativity.
There are different attitudes towards creativity. The scholars treat creativity as a function of work, of the novel products, of social activity, of divergent thinking and idea generations, of cognition and judgement, of relationship between an individual and her environment.
The impact of creativity is not always positive speaking both – about social connections and about individual feelings. The scholars pay attention to the fact that an individual creativity threatens to the social connections. Additionally, creativity provokes not only a rejection and criticism, but also the conflicts in a society. Finally, creativity causes feeling of guilt or can lead to self-destruction. As a result, it could be said that the positive aspects of creativity are inseparable from its negative factors. That is why the scholars speak about the complex interactions of creativity. Another source of complexity is the double nature of creativity that is directed towards the social environment, although it stems as the individual aspirations that, in turn, are inseparable from the social world. The idea of balance or harmony is inseparable from the idea of comfortable climate in society. However, the creative decisions are the results of discomfort, stress or crisis and provoke intolerance, anger or ignorance.

Aim of the conference

is to analyse the phenomenon of creativity; the relationship between individual creativity and social creativity; the paradoxes of creativity in the communities and in the organizations; the relationship between social capital and creative capital; aspects of creative economy; the peculiarities of creativity’s management.

The user-friendly dictionary should have a challenging design and innovative way of key-words description (chronology, nationality, sphere of activity, graphic illustrations, etc.). The project will refresh tourists’ (both Italian and foreign) interest in Florence through a brand new and original vision of Italian prominent people whose lives were connected with Florence. It would also be useful for Florentine guides as a source of unique material about the eminent city.

TASKS

1. To enrich the students’ knowledge of Florentine contribution to the Italian and, in general, world handicrafts as described in encyclopedias on culture, art and literature.

2. To inspire the students in their efforts to study Florentine handicrafts by means of visiting the city museums, palaces and workshops.

3. To compile a joint model of an open Internet encyclopedic dictionary intended for certain user groups, namely guides and tourists.

a cura di Stefano Gambacciani e Istituto Internazionale Life Beyond Tourism

a cura di VivaFirenze.it e Istituto Internazionale Life Beyond Tourism
